The Engagement Paper in Detail
How advisory engagements with the practice are formed, priced, changed and closed.
The two parties
Collaborative Intervention Services Ltd, Companies House No. 901107, registered office 3 Prospect Place, Westhill, Aberdeenshire AB32 6SY, and the client as written into the proposal.
How the engagement is born
A written proposal stands open for 30 days. Acceptance is the client's signed return, or a written instruction to begin; spoken agreement alone does not create a contract.
Changes during the work
Extra work follows a written variation only, agreed with the client beforehand. Passages of the proposal can be adjusted the same way.
Cancellation window
Sessions cancelled a full 48 hours in advance shift without cost. Later than that, the reserved time is reasonably invoiced.
Being paid
Prices in British pounds are due 14 days from invoice. The Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998 governs interest and recovery costs on late amounts.
Quiet words that survive
What is learned in reading sessions, and the documents shared, stay confidential after the engagement closes.
If something goes wrong
Liability stops at the fees actually paid for the work in question; indirect and consequential loss stands outside. Personal injury caused by negligence is never limited here.
Which law and which courts
England and Wales law serves as the governing framework, wherever the venue ends up; ordinary courts take the disputes. The practice answers written complaints before any escalation.
